Conversation with Drake at bedtime
Me: Is there anything you want to pray about tonight?
Drake: Yes! I want to tell Jesus that He is good, and I want to tell Him that I can do ALL things through Him because He gives me strength.
Me: That’s great, Lovey! Anything you want to ask him?
Drake: No, that’s ok. God already knows the stuff I need.

Drake: Mom, can I play with these?
Me: Not right now, Buddy.
Drake: Aww, but I really wanted to sparkle!

Drake, about playing outside
Drake: Mom, let’s play in my sandbox.
Me: Drake, It’s about 100 degrees outside today. I think it’s too hot. But If you want to go, you can.
Drake: OK. (Drake goes outside.)
(30 seconds elapse, Drake comes back inside)
Drake: Mom, it’s 100 degrees outside. It’s too hot.

Criminal Mastermind
Drake: Mom, in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, there’s only five tickets ever in the world.
Me: Yes, Drake. Just five tickets.
Drake: Why didn’t they make more tickets? Everyone wanted more!
Me: Mr. Wonka only wanted to let in a few children to his factory.
Drake: Mom! Mom! What we should do is, we should get some gold ticket papers and we should make MORE tickets and sell them! And we make people so happy and we get money for toys!
Me: Drake, I think that’s forgery.
Drake: Yeah! Let’s forgery!

Drake, as Captain America, in a menacing voice: Hulk, I’m gonna GET you!
Me: I thought Cap and Hulk were friends! Why are they fighting?
Drake, rolling his eyes: These are just TOYS, Mom. It’s ok.

Pancakes
Conversation with Drake, when I wimped out and made pancakes for dinner after a long day, instead of the more delicious/nutritious/work intensive meal I had planned:
Me: Drake, come and eat!
Drake: It’s pancakes! Whew! What a relief (which he pronounced “WeeWeef”)!
Me: You like pancakes best, Cap?
Drake: Yeah. Because some other dinners are just too YUCKY!
Me: Hey, Drake! That’s not nice to say. Besides, Daddy likes my dinners.
Drake, after a long pause: Mommy…I think Daddy is not telling you the truth.
